Abstract: Objective: to know the influence of performance in a linear sprint on changes of direction in basketball players. Method: We carried out a cross-sectional study in which 74 subjects (51 men and 23 women). The time to perform 3 COD tests (change of direction), V-cut test and 505 (the latter with a dominant leg and with a non-dominant leg) and the time to perform a 30-meter sprint taking time at 10 and 30 were evaluated. 20 meters too. We performed a correlation to find out the relationship between the 30-meter sprint times and the times in the COD tests. Results: The correlation between the COD tests and the sprint time of the men's group is not statistically significant (sig <0.05). In the group of women there is a moderate positive correlation between COD and sprint time of 10 meters (r> 0.4), positive and strong with time in 20 meters (r> 0.6) and positive and very strong with time to travel 30 meters (r> 0.75). Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that performance in linear sprinting has a strong correlation with performance on CODs. | es_ES |
