This year marks the 128th anniversary of the birth of Kahlil Gibran, who was born in 1883, and died tragically at the early age of 48. Few writers are in a position to speak as directly and resonantly to our times as Gibran was. A man of broad human sympathy for all creation, he held a passionate belief in the unity of mankind. His message of peace and reconciliation is more timely and more sorely needed than ever as relations between Christian, Muslim and Jew, between East and West, become ever more pressing matters of concern.es_ES
