El personaje posmoderno en la novela española: Análisis de 'El pensamiento de los monstruos' de Felipe Benítez Reyes

Abstract

This work proposes an analysis of the state of Postmodernity and of Spanish post-modern novel, highlighting the task of a type of character whose importance stands out among other compositional elements of the story that, although they do not disappear, are outshined or obey the demands of this character, narrator of his own story: the schizophrenic individual. It is proposed as an example of the study Yéremi Vargas, the main character of El pensamiento de los monstruos (2002) (The Monsters’ Thought) by Felipe Benítez Reyes, who could be the emblem of this type of character even though he answers each of one circumstances that specify the Postmodernity mark.
