Los niños con TEA presentan un déficit en el reconocimiento, comprensión y expresión de las propias emociones. En este trabajo se presenta la evaluación y posterior entrenamiento en la discriminación de las emociones básicas no presentes en el repertorio de un niño con diagnóstico de TEA, mediante el uso de múltiples ejemplos. Para ello se considera esencial que el niño aprenda a responder bajo control de las señales internas y el contexto en el que se dan. El fin perseguido es que el niño pueda comunicar cómo se siente, sepa por qué siente esa determinada emoción y qué puede hacer en esa situación, favoreciendo el autoconocimiento y las relaciones interpersonales, entre otras cosas. Los resultados muestran una mejora en el reconocimiento de las cuatro emociones, en la comprensión de las variables causantes de la emoción y en el qué hacer sintiéndose así.
