El uso del inglés en la literatura africana: los casos de Gabriel Okara, Amos Tutuola y Ken Saro-Wiwa

Abstract

This essay will focus on three examples of Nigerian narrative written in English, Gabriel Okara, Amos Tutuola and Ken Saro-Wiwa, where the use and alteration of the language of the colonizers acquires a singular dimension in the question of African literary production, creating a controversial debate and subsequent criticism. These authors, who have different mother tongues, make their distortion of the English language unique in each case. However, this question cannot simply be reduced to the fact that literatures in English from African authors are African or English literatures.
