This essay introduces a methodological approach which looks for efficiency in reading. Its main motivating agents are pupils belonging to Compulsory Secondary Education, a stage which is normally chosen by philologists in order to develop their professional career as teachers. This essay aims at approaching teachers to a different strategy of reading focused on its improvement. The first part makes an analysis on the situation of reading from a curricular viewpoint. This will be our perspective when we begin our teaching career. This curricular outlook shows the different laws and plans on education proposed by the government. This is the legal framework on which secondary school teachers have to base in order to teach. The second part of this essay focuses on an active methodology to be developed in the classroom.
