Evolución demográfica de la Comarca del Poniente Almeriense desde 1950 hasta la actualidad

Abstract

La Comarca del Poniente Almeriense en la segunda mitad del Siglo XX ha tenido un gran cambio en el ámbito demográfico, con un gran aumento de la población. Varios han sido los factores que han generado este crecimiento poblacional, pero todos ellos surgen a partir de la aparición en la década de 1970 de la agricultura intensiva bajo plástico. En la década de los 50 del Siglo XX, se crean una serie de poblados bajo el Instituto Nacional de Colonización que va a generar un programa que pretende cambiar el sistema de producción agrícola, para aprovechar los recursos de la superficie de la comarca. Con los cambios en la producción comenzaron a aparecer la agricultura intensiva del Poniente Almeriense que han provocado las migraciones desde los diversos puntos de la provincia de Almería y Granada en la década de 1970, y ya a finales de Siglo XX de una inmigración procedente especialmente del norte de África, sentando las bases de una gran inmigración en los municipios que conforman esta comarca. Abstract: The region of the West Almeria in the second half of the twentieth century has had a great change in the demographic field, with a large increase in the population. There have been several factors that have generated this population growth, but all of them arise from the emergence in the 1970s of intensive agriculture under plastic. In the decade of the 50s of the twentieth century, a series of villages are created under the National Institute of Colonization that will generate a program that aims to change the agricultural production system, to take advantage of the resources of the area of the region. With the changes in the production began to appear the intensive agriculture of the West Almeria that have caused the migrations from the different points of the province of Almeria and Granada in the 1970s, and already at the end of the twentieth century of an immigration coming especially from the north of Africa, laying the foundations of a great immigration in the municipalities that conform this region.
