2020Abstract
Gran parte de la producción hortofrutícola y ornamental en Almería, así como en otras regiones de España y del mundo, se desarrolla dentro de modelos agrícolas intensivos tanto convencionales como ecológicos, que a su vez se desenvuelven bajo la denominada “agricultura bajo plástico”. Este tipo de agricultura tiene como protagonista principal a la cubierta plástica que, al ser instalada en un invernadero, modifica los parámetros ambientales: radiación solar, temperatura, humedad, viento etc. Con las cubiertas se consiguen mejorar los rendimientos de los cultivos tanto en el aspecto cuantitativo como cualitativo. No obstante, existen ocasiones en las que estas por sí solas no consiguen los efectos positivos esperados, pudiendo llegar a ser contraproducentes como ocurre, por ejemplo, en zonas cálidas donde las épocas del año con altos niveles de irradiancia provocan temperaturas excesivas en el interior de los invernaderos.
