ABSTRACT: Windsurfing is a water sport that requires a rig and a board. Since its inception, a rope and a pulley system have always been used to mount the rigging, there are few accessories that help us to rig it more comfortable and easily. In the market and in other sports there are different tension mechanisms that allow obtaining a tension more efficiently. In the following work we will study which of the different proposals best meets the requirements for rigging a sail. Based on the best proposal, we will design a new mechanism for the rigging of windsurfing sails that incorporates a lever that allows us to rotate a reel easily and effortlessly, on which a stainless metal cable is wound. By making the cable pass through the pulleys of the rigging we will be able to apply the tension we need to the sail. With the incorporation of the reel pulled by de lever, we managed to improve the fixing method previously used in this sport. In this way, we were able to eliminate the friction that caused the usual breakage of the rope and endangered the windsurfer, allowing us to replace the rope with the metallic cable of smaller diameter and longer duration. Therefore, we will be able to rig a sail in a more comfortable, faster and easier way, better optimizing the necessary space and improving the durability of the elements involved.es_ES
