2020-06Abstract
El presente trabajo es un análisis de la obra del pintor norteamericano Edward Hopper, una ocasión para reflexionar acerca de la aportación mutua entre el cine y la pintura. Edward Hopper, posiblemente, sea uno de los artistas que más influencias haya dejado en el cine moderno gracias a sus lienzos que poseen una incuestionable calidad cinematográfica. Hopper crea una narrativa, dejando un final abierto en sus historias para que el espectador pueda completar la narración, el neoyorkino captura un instante congelado en el tiempo, razón por la cual los cineastas se sienten tan atraídos por su obra, su arte invita al espectador y por ende a los filmes inspirados en sus obras a que asuman el papel de voyeur. Hopper estuvo estrechamente ligado al teatro y al cine, viviendo desde su infancia hitos cinematográficos como la grabación de la salida de los obreros de la fábrica Lumière en Lyon en 1895, denotando como el cine también influyó en él.
