Los menores ante las redes sociales: usos y adicciones

Abstract

Hoy en día los niños desde que nacen están ligados a las nuevas tecnologías, por eso se les denomina “nativos digitales” (Prensky, 2001). Los jóvenes menores de edad tienen acceso a Internet y a un dispositivo móvil cada vez más temprano y por eso, consiguen con facilidad la obtención de redes sociales. Es innegable que las redes sociales cada vez nos pueden traer más beneficios, pero no podemos perder de vista la abundancia de riesgos que se pueden encontrar cuando se usan de manera inapropiada. ¿Qué uso hacen en las redes y a qué se enfrentan? ¿Serán capaces los adolescentes de controlar y manejar el uso de estas tecnologías a la perfección? Se persigue dar respuesta a ciertas preguntas e intentar alertar a todo lector de la problemática que realmente existe. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo conocer y comprender la utilización de las redes sociales en los jóvenes que son menores de edad, indagando en la adicción y dificultades que suponen, a través de una investigación cualitativa por medio de entrevistas en profundidad. Si no existe un buen control por parte de los padres, consciencia entre los jóvenes y no se hace un buen uso de las redes sociales, podrá provocar desde un uso inmoderado del móvil, llegando a una adicción hasta sufrir acoso. Las redes sociales están repletas de peligros. Como con toda herramienta, depende del uso administrado el que se transforme en un aspecto positivo o que perjudique al menor. Por eso mismo, es importante que se trabaje y aconseje en los distintos entornos, desde la implicación familiar como de la escuela, para que así, en los casos problemáticos no haya adolescentes que dependan de un dispositivo móvil y se conviertan en prisioneros de las Red. Nowadays, newborn children are linked to the new technologies, that is why they are called "digital natives" (Prensky, 2001). Young minors have access to the Internet and a mobile device earlier and earlier and therefore, they easily get to obtain social networks. There is no denying that social networks can bring us more and more benefits, but we cannot lose sight of the abundance of risks when used inappropriately. What use of the social networks they perform, and which challenges they face? Will adolescents be able to control and manage the use of these technologies perfectly? The aim is to provide answers to certain questions and to try to alert the reader to the problems that really exist. The objective of this research is to learn about and understand the use of social networks by young people who are minors, exploring the addiction and challenges involved, through qualitative research by means of in-depth interviews. If there is no proper control by parents, awareness among young people and a good use of social networks is not made, it can cause from an immoderate use of the mobile, reaching an addiction to suffer harassment. Social media is full of dangers. As with any tool, it depends on the use made of it that it becomes something positive or something that harms the child. For this reason, it is important to work and advise in the different environments, from the family and school involvement, so that in this way, in the problematic cases there are no adolescents who depend on a mobile device and become prisoners of the Network.
