Aplicación de herramientas SIG y ACCESS para estudiar, rescatar y proteger el Patrimonio Cultural Subacuático de Almería

Abstract

Las pocas actuaciones llevadas a cabo en la provincia de Almería en relación con el Patrimonio Cultural Subacuático no han conseguido impulsar su protección y puesta en valor. Con este trabajo pretendemos reactivar el interés por investigarlo y tutelarlo a través de un conocimiento más exhaustivo y actualizado del mismo. La intención, además de su protección, es poder conectarlo con los procesos históricos desarrollados en el sureste peninsular y apoyar las investigaciones realizadas en el medio terrestre. Así, en este trabajo presentamos, por un lado, una base de datos que recopila todo el material de origen subacuático de la provincia y, por otro, un Sistema de Información Geográfica, con más de mil mapas, conectado a la misma. En conjunto, la información integrada en ambas herramientas, sentará las bases de nuestras líneas de investigación a la par que serán de gran utilidad para la comunidad investigadora a la hora de estudiar, rescatar y proteger nuestro patrimonio arqueológico e histórico.

The few actions carried out in the province of Almeria in relation to underwater cultural heritage have not managed to promote its protection and enhancement, with this work we intend to reactivate the interest in researching and protecting it through a more comprehensive and updated knowledge of the PCS. The intention, in addition to its protection, is to be able to connect it with the historical processes developed in the southeast of the peninsula and to support the research carried out in the terrestrial environment. Thus, in this work we present, on the one hand, a database that compiles all the material of underwater origin in the province and, on the other, a GIS with more than a thousand maps and connected to the database, which will be of great use to the research community when studying, rescuing and protecting our archaeological and historical heritage and will lay the foundations for our lines of research.
