2020Abstract
El derecho de sufragio, especialmente en su vertiente activa, ha sido, desde tiempo inmemorial, un hándicap para la persona con discapacidad. En concreto, en España, son muchas las personas que se han visto privadas de tal derecho de rango fundamental mediante sentencia judicial. En muchos casos, de forma injustificada. Los avances en materia de discapacidad, así como la presión de los distintos organismos nacionales e internacionales, han culminado con la reforma del histórico artículo 3 de la LOREG, que reconoce, en igualdad de condiciones, el derecho de sufragio a todas las personas con discapacidad, de acuerdo con la Convención sobre los derechos de las personas con discapacidad.
