Menores de edad: riesgos derivados del uso y utilización de internet y de las redes sociales

Abstract

RESUMEN: En el presente trabajo se abordará un tema en auge y con abundante estudio: Los menores y su relación con las redes sociales. Primeramente, se expondrán los riesgos que entraña el uso de internet y de las redes sociales respecto a los menores de edad, destacando los más relevantes (ciberbullying, child grooming, sexting, etc.). Luego se examinarán los principales derechos que pueden verse vulnerados a través del uso de tales medios de comunicación digital, concretamente los derechos al honor, a la imagen y a la intimidad del menor, así como la protección de datos personales, indicando su tratamiento y protección jurídica. Finalmente, se realizará un breve apunte de cuestiones relacionadas dentro del Derecho comparado.

ABSTRACT: In this paper, a topic which is at its peak will be comprehensively tackled: Minors and their relationship with social networks. First of all, the risks involved in the use of the internet and social networks regarding minors will be explained, focusing on the most relevant ones (i.e. cyberbullying, child grooming, sexting, etc.). Then, the main rights that may be infringed through the use of such digital communication media will be examined (specifically the rights to honor, privacy and self-image of the minor), as well as the protection of personal data, indicating their treatment and legal protection. Finally, a brief note will be made on related issues within comparative law.
