The aim of this paper is to show how factors such as personal experience and the socio-political context surrounding Fay Weldon's life have infuenced her writing. I will focus on three novels by this British author, Female Friends (1975), The Life and Loves of a She-Devil (1983) and Big Women (1997), each one representative of a vital moment within Feminism, in order to reflect on the biographical elements which help the reader to adopt a higher social awareness.
