ABSTRACT: Open Government Data (DGA) is potentially a source of benefits both economically and socially. In addition, to achieve its full potential, a correct and quality implementation of the DGA web portals supported by open government initiatives at both national and local levels is necessary. Therefore, the DGA is in a state of growth as a field of study, due to its added value and the constant production of data that the citizen and the Government when performing their tasks or in other aspects of their life. Therefore, the role played by local governments is essential as the main source of public data collection. Consequently, this study has analyzed, descriptively, 398 local Spanish governments, with more than 20,000 inhabitants. In order to examine the implementation of self-regulation policies of local governments for the reuse of public sector data, and also to observe the quality of the DGA of web portals.
