Impacto de la actividad física en el cerebro y los procesos psicológicos: una propuesta de intervención en personas con deterioro cognitivo leve y demencia de Alzheimer

Resumen: Compuesto de dos partes complementarias, este trabajo traza una línea desde lo general a lo particular. En su primera mitad, con carácter de revisión narrativa, comenzará ahondando en el concepto de salud integral, sus principios fundamentales y mecanismos y, en especial, en los efectos beneficiosos de la actividad física sobre el trinomio cuerpo-cerebroprocesos psicológicos. Desde este enfoque, se hará un recorrido por algunos de los últimos estudios en el campo de la actividad física como generador de cambios a nivel neuroanatómico, hormonal y psicológico a través de todo tipo de población, y de cómo incluso éste ha conseguido adaptarse a su tiempo a través del llamado Exergaming. Hacia el final de la primera mitad se hará hincapié a través de diversos estudios, en la aplicación de la actividad física como tratamiento a la hora de paliar los síntomas del deterioro cognitivo en adultos mayores, que desemboca en demencias, destacando entre ellas la demencia de Alzheimer.
